Thanaa's first development

Thanaa has developed so well over the last year that we have decided that it is now time for her to have her 2nd cochlear implant operation. Unfortunately the price of the device has increased to R 232 000, 00 from last years price of R 182 000, 00.

This is proving to a bit of a difficulty for us financially as our medical aid company only pays R 100 000, 00 for the device. This leaves us with an approximate amount of R 150 000, 00 to raise over the next 2 months as Thaana's operation is due to be performed in October.

However we have not given up and have launched a fund-raising campaign to make this operation possible for Thanaa.

The campaign began with a golf day at the prestigious Zimbali Country Club in the Kwa-Zulu Natal north coast. The day proved to be a partial success even though we did not have a full compliment of players. The golf day was supported by Chrysler Umchlanga, Chrysler South Africa, Albaraka Bank, Lotus FM (on the road with Rakesh) & Zimbali Country Club.

The golf day ended at the win a car competition began. Chrysler South Africa gave us a Chrysler Sebring convertible to raffle off and the winner got the use of the vehicle for a period of one month. The competition was held at the ICC exhibition centre in Durban . The winner is still to be announced.

We have now entered into the last phase of the campaign which is a Golf Day & Dinner being held at the Blue Valley Golf & Country Estate on the 24 August 2008.
