The Day has Arrived

The day has finally arrived; Thanaa has been admitted to Linksfield hospital on the 6 October 2008 at 6am . She has been checked by the surgeon and anaesthetist and it is all go for Thanaa.

As can be seen in the picture Thanaa is all ready and in great spirits for her surgery while we the parents are extremely nervous. We do however know that Thanaa is in great hands with Dr. Hockman performing the surgery and Dr Oettle carrying out the anaesthetic.

Thanaa went into theatre at 8:30am . The operation should take in the region of 5 to 7 hours and if there is anything that we have learnt with Thanaa it would be the latter. Just to show you how strong this tiny petite 3 year old is, it took 3 of us to hold her down while trying to administer the anaesthetic.

As parents, family & friends we have done everything to get Thanaa to this point and now through the assistance of the almighty it is now in the hands of the magician (Dr Hockman).

I would like to send out a message to Dr Hockman which was actually sent to me by a good friend of mine “ May Allah guide the surgeon's hand” Heider Adam.

"Thank you all for the continuous love, support and well wishes…"
